Art Show at Weirton Elementary School
Posted 04/28/23Hancock County, WV - Over the past month, the Pipinos 3 Pre-K students have been preparing for an art show at Weirton Elementary School. As a class we studied George Seurat and his pointillism painting style. After studying him and his techniques we painted sunflowers in the style of pointillism using dots of color that blend together from a distance. Then, we studied Claude Monet and his art made during the Impressionism period. After studying him and his techniques we painted lily pads inspired by his real-life painting “Water Lily Pond.” We used strokes of paint to replicate the way light would shine on a lily pad floating on the water, then we turned cupcake holders into leaves and lilies to bring our lily pads to life! On Wednesday night, students and their parents gathered at WES. They were able to create a canvas painting together as a family, view their artwork hanging in the hallway of their future school, and there were even some of their future Kindergarten teachers there to answer questions about next year! We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone at Weirton Elementary School for including us in this art show!
Thank you to Miss Jessica and Miss Monica, our Pipinos 3 Pre-K teaching team for all that you do to provide a well-rounded early learning experience for the children in your care.
