Pinwheels for Prevention
Posted 04/09/24Ohio County, WV – The pre-k students enrolled with the Orchard Park classroom took time out of their schedule today to place blue “Pinwheels for Prevention” in front of our building in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. NPHS is a proponent of safety for children. It is important for all of us to be aware of the signs of change in a child’s behavior or demeanor that may reflect an abusive situation. They may withdraw from normal activities, act out in an abnormal way thru play, show signs of aggression, cry a lot, be more clingy, eat as if never had a meal or not eat at all. As their teaching staff and family services staff here at NPHS, we build bonds with the children as well as the adults in the children’s lives and understand individual family circumstances. The children deserve the best we can provide for them.
